Cengiz Ozkan

Cengiz Ozkan is a prominent figure in the field of materials science and engineering, currently serving as Chief Technology Officer, Scientific Advisor, and Founder of Sulfuron, Inc. since January 2023. As a Senior Member of the National Academy of Inventors and a Fellow of the Materials Research Society, Cengiz Ozkan specializes in battery and supercapacitor design, as well as green hydrogen production. With a longstanding academic career at the University of California Riverside since 2001, Cengiz Ozkan holds the positions of Professor and Distinguished Engineering Educator. Areas of expertise include novel lithium-ion battery technologies, artificial intelligence applications in battery management, synthesis of advanced materials such as graphene and TMD van der Waals materials, environmental cleanup technologies, and innovative manufacturing techniques. Cengiz Ozkan earned a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering and a minor in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University between 1991 and 1997.
