David Tamen is a co-founder of Helping Hands MB, a 501c3 nonprofit established in May 2020 to provide STEM opportunities for underrepresented students, including organizing a free STEAM summer camp in Miami Beach. Currently serving as an undergraduate research assistant at Boston University's Neuromotor Recovery Lab since February 2023, David contributes to research on wearable robotics aimed at improving muscle strength and mobility for stroke and Parkinson's patients under the guidance of Dr. Lou Awad. Additionally, David has been involved with FIRST Robotics since September 2018, playing key leadership roles in launching and managing a high school robotics team. David is pursuing a degree at Boston University College of Engineering, following completion of the International Baccalaureate program at Miami Beach Senior High School with a weighted GPA of 5.2 and is recognized as an AP Scholar and National Merit honoree.
