Elena Martin

Elena Martin has an extensive career in surgery and medical education. Currently serving as the President of the Asociación Española de Cirujanos since November 2014, Elena has held various leadership roles within the organization, including Vice President and Secretary General. At the Hospital Universitario de la Princesa, Elena has been the Head of the General and Digestive Surgery Department and an Associate Professor at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid since 2000. Elena is also involved with the International Hepato Pancreato Biliary Association and the Grupo Español de Tumores Neuroendocrinos, holding leadership positions in both. Elena's academic journey includes a Doctorate in Medicine from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and a Medical Degree from Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Furthering professional development, Elena completed a residency at prestigious institutions, including a stint at Mayo Clinic.
