Justin Thompson

Justin Thompson currently serves as NYC Counsel at the ASPCA, beginning in June 2023. Prior to this role, Justin worked at the Bronx County District Attorney's Office as an Assistant District Attorney in the Investigations Division from August 2016 to June 2023. Justin also held positions as Assistant Corporation Counsel/Senior Counsel in the Special State Law Enforcement Defense Unit at the New York City Law Department from December 2019 to February 2022 and as an Associate Attorney at Ansa Assuncao LLP from August 2015 to August 2016. Justin's military legal experience includes serving as Area Defense Counsel and Assistant Staff Judge Advocate in the United States Air Force from September 2009 to December 2014, where Justin defended and prosecuted various cases at Courts-Martial and managed civilian court cases related to on-base criminal activity. Justin began legal training through law clerk positions at various organizations, including the Cuyahoga County Office of the Public Defender and Bay Area Legal Aid. Academic credentials include a Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from San Francisco State University.
