Maggie Garrett currently serves as the Vice President of Federal Affairs at the ASPCA, having joined the organization in March 2024. Prior to this role, Maggie held various positions at Americans United for Separation of Church and State, including Vice President for Public Policy, where efforts focused on shaping and protecting laws related to church-state separation and religious freedom. Additional experience includes serving as Legislative Director at the ACLU of Georgia, where legislative strategies for civil liberties were created, and as Staff Attorney at the ACLU of Alabama, contributing to significant litigation efforts. Maggie began a legal career as a Legal Fellow at Americans United, following a J.D. from The George Washington University Law School and a dual degree in Government and English Language and Literature from Hamilton College.
