Katherine Thain is the current Lab Manager at Aspect Biosystems. Katherine has also worked as a Research Scientist and Editorial Assistant at the Canadian Respiratory Journal, as well as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative for Transfarm. Katherine obtained their PhD in Experimental Medicine from The University of British Columbia in 2013, where their thesis project involved the discovery of functional genetic variations in candidate genes that impact outcome in patients with severe sepsis or septic shock. Prior to their PhD, Katherine completed co-op studentships at the Institute for Heart + Lung Health and the BC Cancer Agency.
Katherine Thain studied cell and molecular biology as an undergraduate at Simon Fraser University. Katherine then went on to earn their Doctor of Philosophy in experimental medicine (functional genomics) from The University of British Columbia.
