Floyd Akins

Floyd Akins is an accomplished fundraising and advancement professional with extensive experience in higher education. Currently serving as Vice President For Advancement at The University of Toledo since February 2022, Floyd has held several key positions including Associate Vice President for Advancement at Michigan State University and Assistant Vice Chancellor for Development and Alumni Relations at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Floyd's previous roles include Senior Associate Vice President for University Development at The Ohio State University and Assistant Vice President for Principal Gifts at The University of Iowa Center for Advancement. In addition to expertise in major gifts and planned giving developed at Grinnell College, Floyd holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Studies from Eastern Illinois University and a Master's degree in Mass Communication/Journalism from the University of Iowa.
