Jorge E. Vargas

Jorge Vargas has over fifteen years of experience in development and principal investments in the renewable energy sector. Mr. Vargas has developed, acquired, financed, and structured joint ventures across all verticals of the solar industry, including: Utility, Residential, C&I and Community Solar domestically and internationally. Mr. Vargas is the Chief Executive Officer at Aspen Power Partners and a Board Member at PearlX Infrastructure, an energy storage developer and asset owner.

Most recently Mr. Vargas served as an Operating Partner at Energy Impact Partners, a leading venture capital firm focused on the clean energy transition. Mr. Vargas held senior roles at Spear Point Energy and PFMG Solar. Mr. Vargas led the sale of PFMG Solar, a leading C&I California based developer, to Constellation New Energies a subsidiary of Exelon Corporation. In addition, Mr. Vargas sold Spear Point Energy’s portfolio of operating solar assets to Goldman Sachs Renewable Power. Mr. Vargas was also an Executive Vice President and Country Manager at AMP Solar Group where he led AMP’s entry into the US Solar Market. Prior to that, he was the Co-Head of the Solar Desk at Morgan Stanley Commodities where he focused on origination and project financing of principal investments in solar projects deploying Morgan Stanley Commodities balance sheet. Mr. Vargas started his solar career at Lennar Corporation where he pioneered the New Home Residential Solar PPA in California. Prior to these roles, Mr. Vargas was an investment banker at Bank of America and JP Morgan.
