Asphalt Green
David Byrnes has a diverse work experience in the field of communications and marketing. David most recently served as the Chief Marketing Officer at Asphalt Green from 2023. Prior to that, they held roles at Educational Alliance, where they were the Vice President of Communications from 2018 to 2023 and the Director of Communications from 2018 to 2022. David also co-founded and organized The CARLE Institute for White Educators in Independent Schools from 2013 to 2022. Additionally, David served as the Director of Communications at The Nightingale-Bamford School from 2015 to 2018, and at The IDEAL School of Manhattan from 2011 to 2015. David also held various communication roles at The Cathedral School of St. John the Divine from 2004 to 2011.
David Byrnes completed their high school education at Regis High School from 1996 to 2000. Following that, they continued their education at Amherst College from 2000 to 2004, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree.

A Manhattan fixture for nearly forty years, Asphalt Green, with its expert instructors, coaches, and staff, offers high-quality sports, swim, and fitness instruction and programs for children and adults. It’s free community outreach programs bring these services to children throughout Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx. Asphalt Green offers a diverse range of programs that cater to individuals of all skill levels and backgrounds, from public school students first learning to swim, to teens playing recreational sports in our free community leagues, to elite athletes training for Ironman races or triathlons.
