Ian McKay

Ian McKay has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Ian began their career in 1996 as a Sales Representative at Smith Micro Software, where they excelled in generating revenue and resolving customer service issues. From 1996 to 1998, they worked as an Account Executive at Data Direct, where they developed and maintained customer accounts within the lending industry.

In 1998, Ian joined Memory Experts International (MX) as a Business Development Manager. Ian played a key role in MX's success as a global supplier of memory expansion modules and data security solutions for the office equipment industry. In 2005, they were promoted to the position of General Manager - Asia Pacific, where they established MX's new office in Hong Kong, managed a sales and purchasing team, and provided budget forecasting and planning.

Ian's next move was to MXI Security (a division of MX) in 2005, where they served as General Manager - Asia Pacific. Ian led the company's efforts in providing managed portable security solutions and digital identity protection for enterprise and government clients.

In 2011, Ian joined Imation after they acquired MXI Security. As a Contractor Sales Specialist, they managed sales channels, end customers, and the McAfee OEM account for Imation Mobile Security.

In 2017, Ian joined Powertraveller International Ltd as Vice President of Sales for the USA and APAC regions. Ian successfully developed revenue in the Asia Pacific region and managed all sales and marketing activities for this portable power brand in North America and APAC.

Most recently, Ian joined ASR Tech as the Vice President of Sales in 2023. ASR Tech is a repair center that provides affordable repair services for equipment in the North American market.

Overall, Ian McKay has demonstrated strong leadership, sales, and management skills throughout their career in various industries and roles.

Ian McKay attended Corona Del Mar High School from 1990 to 1993, where they obtained a high school degree in General Studies. Ian then went on to Irvine Valley College from 1993 to 1998, where they earned an Associate's Degree in General Studies. From 1998 to 2001, McKay attended Orange Coast College and pursued a degree in Business/Corporate Communications under the program of General Studies. In addition to their formal education, McKay also obtained certifications such as NASM Sport Science in May 2015 and Dale Carnegie Interpersonal Skills Human Relations from Dale Carnegie Training Hong Kong in January 2013. Ian also holds a certification from NASM.
