Debra Gersh Hernandez

Debra Gersh Hernandez serves as the Lead Public Engagement and Outreach Specialist for NASA's Planetary Science Division at ASRC Federal, having joined in September 2022. Previously, Debra was the Senior Outreach Coordinator at KBR, Inc., where responsibilities included leading communications for NASA's Earth Science Division from September 2016 to September 2022. Prior to that, Debra held various roles, including Co-chair of Sunshine Week and Director of Communications for The Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press. Additionally, Debra owned an independent communications consultancy and has extensive experience in public relations and editorial positions at organizations such as the Newspaper Association of America and Editor & Publisher. Debra holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Newspaper Communications from Syracuse University.
