Director Of Corporate Responsibility at Assent

Sarah Carpenter has a diverse work experience starting from 2010. Sarah began their career as an International Program Officer at the Institute of Public Administration of Canada, where they actively managed global public administration reform programs and collaborated with private-sector firms, resulting in the successful initiation of fifteen new projects. During their time there, they also contributed to the development of information management tools and co-authored funding submissions.

Sarah later worked as a Strategic Policy Analyst at the Directorate of Strategic Analysis, Department of National Defence, Government of Canada in 2012. Following that, they became a Social Science Policy Research Assistant at the University of Toronto, where they provided support in conducting research.

In 2014, Sarah joined Plan International as a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Specialist, focusing on assessing program impact and supporting learning initiatives. Sarah then moved on to the International Labour Organization in 2015 as a Labour Rights Consultant, where they provided expertise in labor rights.

Sarah's interest in human rights led their to work as a Human Rights Consultant at the Canadian Network on Corporate Accountability for a short period in 2016. Sarah subsequently joined Assent in the same year and held various roles, including Business and Human Rights Analyst, Senior Business and Human Rights Analyst, and Manager, Business and Human Rights. In their current position as the Director of Corporate Responsibility, they play a pivotal role in delivering sustainability and ESG expertise, leading the development and execution of the company's Corporate Sustainability strategy.

Sarah Carpenter has a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology from McGill University, which they obtained from 2004 to 2008. Sarah then pursued a Master of Public Policy degree at the University of Toronto - Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy from 2011 to 2013. During their Master's program, Sarah also participated in an international exchange program at Sciences Po in 2012, focusing on International Relations and Affairs. Additionally, Sarah has obtained certifications in Focus and Foundations from Pragmatic Institute (Pragmatic Marketing + TDI).
