Lisa Behnke

Lisa Behnke has a diverse work experience spanning several decades. Lisa is the Founder and Chief Medical Officer of Asserta Health, a healthcare payment platform that aims to make healthcare more affordable and transparent. Prior to this, they were the Managing Partner of La Vida de la Vid LLC. Lisa has also served as a Board Member at MotivHealth and as the Chief Medical Officer at Metcare. Lisa had a long tenure at UnitedHealth Group, where they worked as a Medical Director. Lisa also held positions at Benchmark Physician Organization, St Vincent's Medical Center, PwC, Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Highland Gastroenterology Associates/Highland Medical Associates. Their roles included Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, Vice President of Care Management, Director, GHRS Healthcare Solutions, Senior Medical Director, and Owner of a Medical Practice.

Lisa Behnke has a diverse education history. Lisa began their academic journey by earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Wagner College, which they completed from 1974 to 1977. Later, Lisa pursued their medical aspirations and attended Eastern Virginia Medical School, where they obtained their MD degree in Medicine from 1980 to 1983.

After their medical studies, Lisa decided to specialize further in the field of healthcare administration. Lisa enrolled at Virginia Commonwealth University from 1994 to 1996 and successfully completed their Master's in Health Administration (MHA) with a focus on Health Administration.

Throughout their professional career, Lisa has also obtained several certifications to enhance their knowledge and expertise. In 2007, they earned an Advanced Certificate in Wines and Spirits from WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust). Subsequently, in 2010, Lisa became a Certified Specialist of Wine and a Certified Specialist of Spirits through the Society of Wine Educators.

Furthermore, Lisa has expanded their skillset beyond the medical and wine industries. In 2013, they obtained a Certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies. Most recently, in 2019, Lisa completed a Certificate in Human Centered Healthcare Design from Parsons School of Design - The New School.

Early on in their medical career, Lisa also achieved certifications in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology through the American Board of Internal Medicine, although specific dates and months for these certifications are unavailable.
