Matt Turkstra

Matt Turkstra has held various positions throughout their career. Matt began as a Counselor at Camp Brookwoods from 1999 to 2002. Later, they interned at Edelman in 2003 and at the Committee on House Administration from February to June 2004. Turkstra then worked as a Committee Clerk at the House Committee on Ways and Means from June 2004 to December 2006. Matt served as a Senior Legislative Assistant at the U.S. House of Representatives from January 2007 to January 2011 and then as a Legislative Director from January to November 2011. Turkstra joined NFIB in November 2011 as the Senior Manager of Government Relations until June 2017. Currently, they work as the Director of Congressional Relations, Tax, Fiscal Affairs, and Accounting at the Associated General Contractors of America since June 2017, though their end date is unspecified.

Matt Turkstra holds a B.A. in English from Gettysburg College, which they obtained from 1998 to 2002. Additionally, they attended Northern Highlands Regional High School from 1994 to 1998. Matt also briefly studied at The University of Queensland in 2000, but did not complete a degree or specify a field of study.
