Byron Tau

Byron Tau is an investigative reporter at The Associated Press in the Washington bureau, focusing on national security, law, and government accountability since November 2024. Previously, Byron was a key reporter at NOTUS, a new publication dedicated to politics and policy, from September 2023 to November 2024. In early 2024, Byron served as an adjunct lecturer at Georgetown University, teaching a course on media and law. Byron's experience also includes nearly nine years as a reporter at The Wall Street Journal and reporting on national politics at Politico, where notable contributions included co-writing and editing an influential blog on the Obama administration. Byron holds a BA in Political Science and History from McGill University and an MPS in Journalism from Georgetown University.
