Senior Photo Editor For Latin America & Caribbean at The Associated Press

Leslie Mazoch is a seasoned photojournalist and editor with extensive experience in the field of photography. Currently serving as Senior Photo Editor for Latin America and the Caribbean at The Associated Press since June 2007, Leslie supervises a team that oversees photo reports from the region. Leslie also contributed as a judge for the Pictures of the Year International contest in February 2022. Prior to the current role, Leslie worked as an AP photojournalist in Venezuela, capturing significant events including a coup against President Hugo Chavez. Other roles include staff photojournalist for The Brownsville Herald and an internship at Newsday, alongside early work as a student photographer at The University of Texas. Leslie holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism with a focus on Photojournalism from The University of Texas at Austin and undertook one year of fine art studies at Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
