David Curren

Director of Sponsored Projects at Associated Universities

David oversees sponsored research funding and administration for AUI. He has thirteen years of grants and contract management experience in both the private and government sectors, most recently at the National Institutes of Health where he acted as Deputy Director in the Office of Policy for Extramural Research Administration. In that position he was responsible for overseeing grants policy and compliance activities at all parts of the grant life cycle, from pre-award to post-award and closeout. He has been very active in the Federal Demonstration Partnership and other groups working to streamline research administration requirements across all Federal research agencies. He also has experience with the U.S. Small Business Administration and overseeing workforce development grant programs for the U.S. Department of Labor.

David received his MBA from the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh and his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Duquesne University.
