Robert Huschka

VP, Education Strategies at Association for Advancing Automation

Robert Huschka is the VP of Education Strategies at the Association for Advancing Automation. Robert was previously the Executive Editor at the Detroit Free Press from August 2015 to July 2017. Under their leadership, the Detroit Free Press was named the state's best newspaper in 2016 and 2017 by the Associated Press. Huschka transformed the newsroom's workflows and organization structures from a print-centric operation to a 24/7 digital news service. Robert also built a revenue strategy around events, including a fine-dining series, bus tours and a film festival. In addition, Huschka directed reporters and editors in the creation of powerful community-focused journalism that revealed asbestos problems in city demolitions, stopped a secret crude oil pipeline permit, and held officials in the Flint Water Crisis accountable.

Robert Huschka's educational career consists of a Bachelor's of Arts in Journalism and Political Science from the University of North Dakota.
