Richard Cooper

Richard Cooper is an experienced professional with a strong background in governance and strategic management across various sectors. Currently serving as a Lay Member of the Regulatory Board and Chair of the Standards Board at ACCA since December 2019, Richard has also held significant roles including Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit Committee at the Health Research Authority from February 2019 to February 2025, and as a member of the NHS Pay Review Body from March 2019 to May 2023. Previously, Richard chaired the West Suffolk Council Remuneration Panel, was a Non-Executive Director at Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust, and held several senior positions at BT, including Strategy Programme Director and Senior Programme Manager. Richard's educational background includes a BEng in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Portsmouth.
