Jacob Mathew

Jacob Mathew has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. jacob started their career as a partner at Tessaract Design, a company focused on multidisciplinary design. jacob later co-founded Idiom Design & Consulting Ltd, a strategic business design consulting company. In 1995, Jacob co-founded Dovetail furniture private ltd, which became a leading fixture manufacturer and furniture supplier. In 2011, they served as a Director at Spring Health Water (India) Pvt Ltd, a company providing safe drinking water in rural India. Jacob also worked as a Design Principal at Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design and Technology, where they founded the Impact Edge lab and mentored students in their capstone projects. jacob was the President of the Association of Designers of India in 2022. Currently, Jacob holds the role of Consultant and CEO at Industree Foundation, an organization empowering rural women to set up and run their own enterprises in the Creative Manufacturing Industry.

Jacob Mathew has a diverse education history. jacob completed the Platform Cooperatives Now online certification program at the New School with Mondragon University in 2020, focusing on cooperatively owned digital platforms. In 2015, they attended the Harvard Graduate School of Education for Programs in Professional Education, with a specialization in the future of learning. jacob also completed the Dasra Social Impact Leadership Program in 2013, developing leadership skills for social enterprises. Additionally, in 2013, they earned a certificate in the Toyota Production System from AOTS HIDA Toyota Shi, Nagoya, Japan. Jacob obtained a degree in Social Entrepreneurship from the Dasra Social Impact program in 2010. jacob began their education journey at the National Institute of Design from 1979 to 1985, studying product design. Prior to that, they completed their pre-degree course in Science at MAR IVANIOS COLLEGE from 1977 to 1979. jacob'searlier academic years were spent at St Thomas Residential School, where they completed their ICSE degree in Physical Sciences from 1968 to 1976. Jacob also attended Anglo Chinese Primary School for primary education in 1968. In 2015, they participated in the Leading Growth Through Customer Centricity-India program at Harvard Business School Executive Education.
