Miira Riipinen has extensive experience in environmental management and urban development, currently serving as the Director of the Urban Development and Environment unit and previously holding the position of Manager for Environmental Affairs at the Association of Finnish Local and Regional Authorities since August 2014. Prior roles include Manager for Environmental Affairs at the Municipality of Kirkkonummi and Environmental Inspector at both the City of Helsinki and the Municipality of Sipoo. Miira began their career as a Secretary for Environmental Affairs in the municipalities of Padasjoki and Kuhmoinen, followed by a role as Environmental Planner at the Environment Centre of Middle Finland. Miira's academic background includes a Master of Science in Biology, Environmental Sciences, and Hydrobiology from the University of Jyväskylä.
