Daniel Fonte earned an MSc in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in robotics and systems, from Instituto Superior Técnico, Portugal, in 2011, and studied as an ERASMUS student at École Nationale Supérieure des Techniques Avancées in France. They contributed to the ITER project while serving as an R&D Engineer from 2009 to 2011, and have since held positions as a consultant engineer, focusing on embedded software and automotive engineering. Currently, Fonte is the Head of Application Engineering at Speedgoat and leads vehicle motion control on major Renault autonomous driving projects, alongside their role as an R&D Engineer at Assystem. They have published multiple papers in robotics and received the Best Student Master Thesis Award from the Portuguese Robotics Society in 2012.
