Adam Fagen has a long and varied work experience in the science and technology sector. Starting in 1998, they held various roles at Harvard University, including Preceptor in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Graduate Research/Teaching Fellow. In 1999, they Co-Chaired the National Doctoral Program Survey for the National Association of Graduate-Professional Students. From 2010 to 2011, they were the Executive Director of the Genetics Society of America. From 2016 to 2018, they were the Principal for Association Science Partners and Director, Early Career Scientist Segment for the American Association for the Advancement of Science. In 2018, they were the Scientific Redactor for Social Solutions International, Inc. and Treasurer, AOR and Deputy Director for BIOQUEST CURRICULUM CONSORTIUM. Since 2019, they have been the Director of Communications, Advocacy, and Engagement and Director of Communications and Advocacy for the Association of Science and Technology Centers.
Adam Fagen began their educational journey in 1977 at University School of Nashville, where they graduated from high school in 1989. Adam then attended Swarthmore College, earning a B.A. in Biology and Mathematics in 1993. After that, Fagen returned to Harvard University, where they earned an A.M. in Molecular and Cellular Biology in 1996, followed by a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Education in 2003.
