Melissa Ballard

Director of Programs at ASTC Science World

Melissa Ballard has a wide range of work experience in the science and technology field. Melissa began their career in 2006 as a Research Assistant at the University of Michigan's Center for Ergonomics. In 2009, they moved on to become a Programs Coordinator at Impression 5 Science Center. In 2012, they were hired as a Senior STEM Manager at the Afterschool Alliance. In 2018, they were appointed as a Communications and Community Manager at the Center for Advancement of Informal Science Education. Most recently, they have been working as the Director of Programs, Senior Manager of Public Policy and Advocacy, and Senior Manager of Communications at the Association of Science and Technology Centers since 2019.

Melissa Ballard attended the University of Michigan from 2003 to 2008, where they received a B.S.E. in Industrial and Operations Engineering and a B.G.S. in General Studies. Melissa also attended the University of Cape Town from 2006 to present.
