David Burns is currently the Director of Scientific Communications & Content at Astellas Pharma. With a background in molecular microbiology and experience in medical writing and research, David has held various roles throughout their career focused on data dissemination and strategic publication planning for infectious diseases products. David's expertise extends to studying the diversity in spore formation and spore germination among different clinical isolates of Clostridium difficile. David's educational background includes a PhD in Molecular Microbiology from the University of Nottingham and a BSc Hons in Microbiology and Infection from The University of Edinburgh.
