Walter Jessen

Walter Jessen, PhD, is currently the Associate Biostatistics Director for Biomarkers at Astellas Pharma, where expertise in biomarker statistics is applied to multiple global projects. Previously, Jessen held various roles at Labcorp, including Principal AI/ML Data Scientist, leading machine learning initiatives for diagnostic test recommendations and advancing clinical decision support. Additional experience includes positions at Highlight Health Media, Indiana University School of Informatics and Computing, Covance, and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, focusing on systems biology, data science, and bioinformatics. With a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from Texas A&M University and a B.S. in Mathematical Physics from Purdue University Northwest, Walter Jessen possesses a strong foundation in both biological sciences and mathematical modeling.
