Chris Tyler

Chris Tyler, MBA, PHR has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Chris started their career as a Stocker/Cleaner at Laingsburg Town Tub in 1998 and worked their way up to Assistant Manager before leaving in 2004. Chris then worked as a Host/Busser at Chili's for a few months before transitioning to Sam's Club as a Center Section Sales Partner. In 2006, Chris joined Builders Plumbing Supply as a Powered Industrial Truck Operator for a few months before moving on to MSU Federal Credit Union. At MSU FCU, they held various roles such as Credit Union Associate, Receptionist, Visa Specialist, and Assistant Contact Center Manager. Chris'slast position at the credit union was Call Center Manager, which they held from 2010 to 2013. In 2013, they joined Astera Credit Union as a Branch Manager and was later promoted to Assistant Vice President of Human Resources. From 2017 to 2018, they served as the Vice President of Human Resources before being promoted to their current role as Senior Vice President of Operations. Overall, Chris has a strong background in operations and human resources, with a focus on financial institutions.

Chris Tyler, MBA, PHR, has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from Northwood University - DeVos Graduate School, which they obtained in 2014. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Human Resources Management from Michigan State University in 2010. Chris also holds an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Media Technology with an Emphasis on Audio Production from Lansing Community College, obtained in 2007. In terms of certifications, Chris obtained the Professional of Human Resources (PHR) certification from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI in 2016. In 2013, they obtained the Adult First Aid/CPR/AED certification from the American Red Cross - Mid-Michigan Chapter. Additionally, in 2012, they obtained the Certified Human Resources Specialist certification from MSU Executive Education.
