Mohamed Nasr Haggag

Mohamed Nasr Haggag has a diverse work experience in various roles and positions. Mohamed Nasr is currently working as a Principal Embedded Firmware Engineer at Astera Labs since July 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer at Huawei from March 2020 to July 2022.

Before their time at Huawei, Mohamed worked at Teslonix Inc. as an Embedded Software and Design Engineer from August 2015 to March 2020. Mohamed Nasr also served as a PhD Candidate at Carleton University from May 2015 to March 2020.

In 2014, Mohamed had a brief role as an Automation System Engineer at PROVIS STEUERUNGSTECHNIK GMBH, where they collaborated with various teams to develop automation system solutions.

In 2013, they worked as a Research Assistant at Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI), contributing to the NeTTUN Project by conducting research and developing grippers for service robots. Mohamed Nasr also worked on developing a communication protocol for the grippers' integration with the existing system.

In 2012, Mohamed had an internship at Siemens Energy, where they worked as a Development Engineer, analyzing and resolving system issues in the main control system used in power plants. Mohamed Nasr also educated customers on troubleshooting and proper system usage.

In the same year, they worked as a Student Development Engineer at ME-Automation Projects GmbH, where they designed and implemented PID controller architectures and developed an automatic tuning block for the PID controller on Mitsubishi PLC.

At the German University in Cairo, Mohamed worked as an Engineering Instructor from October 2008 to April 2011, teaching courses related to PLC, Electro-Pneumatics, MPS Lab, and Electrical circuits. Mohamed Nasr also served as a Research Assistant during the same period, implementing various image and video encoders and decoders using MATLAB and VHDL.

Mohamed Nasr Haggag's education history begins in 2001 when they attended the IGCSE - Egyptian Language School, where they earned a Cambridge IGCSE degree in International High School Diploma. From 2003 to 2008, they studied at The German University in Cairo, earning a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree with a focus on Electronics. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the same institution from 2008 to 2010. Finally, Haggag attended the University of Bremen from 2011 to 2013, where they completed a Master's degree in Information and Automation Engineering.
