Hunter McConnell has a diverse work experience, starting in 2017 as a Student Coordinator at the University of Maryland. In 2018, McConnell worked as a Gallery Assistant/Receptionist at the Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture, Inc. During this time, they gained experience in customer service and administrative tasks.
In 2019, McConnell joined the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) as a Contract Specialist. In this role, McConnell focused on drafting contract documents, analyzing terms and conditions, and maintaining contract files. Hunter is responsible for managing $40 million in grant-funded contracts, handling compliance management, legal review, and forecasting contract expenses. Hunter oversees a team of five staff members, ensuring contract management, project management, forecasting, and compliance across the organization.

Hunter McConnell pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Health from the University of Maryland from 2012 to 2017. Currently, Hunter is enrolled in the University of Maryland Global Campus, where they are studying for a Master of Healthcare Administration degree, specializing in Health/Health Care Administration/Management. This program is expected to be completed in 2023.
