Michael Griffin

Michael Griffin possesses extensive experience in youth development and coaching within football. Currently serving as the Assistant Youth Development Phase Lead at Aston Villa Football Club since August 2018, Michael has held various coaching roles, including Lead Age Group Academy Coach and Academy Coach. Prior to this, leadership as Director of Sport at The Shrubbery Independent School occurred from February 2014 to August 2021, alongside ownership of The Griffin Group from January 2015 to January 2021. Earlier roles included coaching positions at Coventry City Football Club and Burton Albion Football Club. Michael has also gained diverse experience outside of football, including customer service and administrative roles. Currently pursuing a Diploma of Education in Professional Football Coaching at Leeds Beckett University, Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Sports Coaching from the same institution.
