Austin Shih is a Radiation Effects Engineer at Astranis Space Technologies, with prior experience as a Staff Scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where responsibilities included measuring gamma and alpha spectroscopy data and developing radiation detectors and calibration scripts. Austin also conducted research as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at UC Berkeley College of Engineering, focusing on environmental radioactivity and radiation sensor networks. Previous internships at Leidos involved developing calibration procedures and methods for radiation detection systems, and an early internship at Palomar Health provided foundational experience. Austin holds a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
