Evangelia Kounatidou

Evangelia Kounatidou is a Senior Research Scientist at AstraZeneca since September 2020, specializing in oncology research and functional genomics. Prior experience includes serving as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the UCL Institute of Child Health, focusing on developing a programmable base editing platform for correcting Netherton syndrome mutations, and completing a PhD at Newcastle University's Northern Institute for Cancer Research, where the project involved CRISPR engineered cell lines to study androgen receptor signaling in advanced prostate cancer. Additional roles include a Pharmaceutical Industry Placement at Redx Pharma, a Leonardo da Vinci Fellowship at Cancer Research UK, an MSc project at the University of York, and an Erasmus Scholarship at the University of Liverpool. Evangelia holds a Master of Science in Post-Genomic Biology from the University of York and has a strong background in cancer research and molecular biology.
