Hua Yu is an accomplished Associate Principal Scientist at AstraZeneca with a focus on investigating the mechanism of action and therapeutic effects of bi-specific antibodies in the tumor microenvironment. Prior to this, Hua served as a Senior Scientist specializing in cell therapy and regulatory T cells. At Yale University School of Medicine, Hua gained extensive experience in cellular and molecular immunology, studying autoimmunity, oncology, and inflammatory diseases while developing a preclinical humanized mouse model to evaluate new drug treatments. Additionally, Hua held a role as a Business Development Intern at Yale University Office of Cooperative Research, where an analysis of patentability and technology evaluations was conducted. Early career experience includes serving as a Biomedical Research Assistant at Protemix Corporation and a Teaching Assistant at The University of Auckland. Hua holds a Ph.D. in Autoimmunity and Transplantation from the University of Melbourne and a Graduate Certificate in Commercialisation from Melbourne Business School.
