Jake A. Melby

Jake A. Melby, Ph.D., is a Senior Scientist in Integrated Bioanalysis at AstraZeneca, specializing in the development of proteomics pipelines for CHO cell host cell proteins to enhance upstream process development. Previously, Jake served as an Analytical Chemistry Graduate Student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where research involved characterizing molecular heterogeneity in skeletal muscle proteoforms using mass spectrometry and creating integrated methods for cardiac tissue analysis. Additional experience includes an internship at Merck focusing on mass spectrometry for antibody-drug conjugates, technical support at Extrel CMS involving mass spectrometer installation and maintenance, and teaching assistance and research roles at the University of Pittsburgh. Jake holds a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh.
