Katherine Joyner

Katherine Joyner is a highly skilled scientist currently serving as a Senior Scientist at AstraZeneca, a position held since September 2021 after a tenure as Scientist I from May 2021 to October 2021. Prior experience includes a Summer Research Fellowship at the U.S. Army Research Laboratory, where work focused on nanoscale biosensors and Bacteriorhodopsin for nanobio hybrid systems, as well as teaching chemical and biological education at Baltimore City Public Schools. Katherine also held roles as a Summer Intern and Research Assistant at the University of Maryland, where extensive research was conducted on peptide-based biomaterials. Additional academic contributions were made as an Adjunct Professor at Towson University and as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Maryland - A. James Clark School of Engineering. Katherine earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Maryland Baltimore and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Chemistry from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland.
