Madalina Ciortan is an experienced data science and software engineering professional currently serving as the Director - AI Leader in DA&AI at AstraZeneca since September 2024. Previously, Madalina held the position of Head of Data Science at Kiwi.com and Euranova, where a range of roles included Researcher, Lead Data Scientist, and Data Scientist. Prior freelance roles as a Technical Architect at Allianz, Cisco, and the European Commission, among others, showcase a strong background in software engineering. Madalina's educational qualifications include a PhD and Master's degree in Bioinformatics and data science from Université libre de Bruxelles, and an Engineer's degree in Computer Science from the University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest.
