Yohei Sugimoto is a highly skilled aerospace engineer with extensive experience in computer vision and engineering for space applications. Currently serving as a Senior Computer Vision Engineer at Astroscale since December 2018, Sugimoto has previously held roles as a Software Engineer and as a SAR Systems and Applications Engineer at the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency from April 2015 to November 2018. Key projects include the development of SAR image training datasets for deep learning and near real-time deep space orbit determination during the PLANET-C missions. Sugimoto obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Glasgow, alongside a Master of Engineering (MEng) and Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) from Tokyo Metropolitan University and Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Technology, respectively.
