ASUR Plant Breeding
Nuno Almeida is a molecular breeder with experience at ASUR plant breeding since June 2017. Prior to this role, Nuno served as a post-doctoral researcher at ITQB-UNL from October 2015 to April 2017 and completed a Ph.D. at the same institution from September 2006 to July 2015, focusing on molecular genetics. Nuno also held a position as a shift manager at McDonald's from October 1999 to May 2001 and obtained a licentiate degree in microbiology from Universidade Católica Portuguesa between 2002 and 2006, alongside studies at Escola de Tecnologia de Gestão Industrial from 2000 to 2002.

ASUR Plant Breeding
ASUR PLANT BREEDING breeds straw cereal varieties for hybrid wheat, line wheat and hybrid barley. Its varieties are marketed throughout Europe via the SAATEN-UNION network and its partners. It has been the only operator on the hybrid wheat seed market for some twenty years, and over the last five years has seen exponential growth in its market share in line wheat, particularly with CHEVIGNON (line wheat variety).
