Endy Muhammad Astiwara

He started his career as a Lecturer in 2000 until now. In the financial services sector, he worked at PT Asuransi Takaful Keluarga as Head of Health Insurance Section, Individual Underwriter (1996), and HR & Services General Manager (2001 - 2002). He also served as Business Development Manager (1997), Research and Development Manager (1997 - 1999), and HRD Division Head (2002 - 2003) at PT Syarikat Takaful Indonesia. In addition, he was a member of the Sharia Accounting Standards Board - Indonesian Institute of Accountants (DSAS - IAI) (2010 - 2016) as well as a member of the Non-Bank Financial Industry Working Group (2003 - 2015) and Head of Business & Tourism (2016 - present) in National Sharia Council - Indonesian Ulema Council. To date.

In 1990, he obtained a Doctor's degree (general practitioner) from Padjadjaran State University, Bandung. Then he obtained a Masters's degree majoring in Islamic Economics from Muhammadiyah University, Jakarta in 1999, and in 2015 he received a Doctorate degree majoring in Ushul al-Fiqh (Methodology of Islamic Law) from Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN), Jakarta.

He has no financial, share ownership, and/or family relationship with other members of the Sharia Supervisory Board, members of the Board of Directors, members of the Board of Commissioners, and/or controlling shareholders.

Appointed as Chairman of the Sharia Supervisory Board based on the Deed of Statement of Shareholders Decision Number 46 dated 23 May 2019 drawn up before Aulia Taufani SH, Notary in Jakarta and reappointed as Chairman of the Sharia Supervisory Board based on the Deed of Statement of Meeting Resolutions Number 59 dated 25 May 2021 drawn up before Aulia Taufani SH, Notary in Jakarta. He was declared to have passed the Fit and Proper Test by the OJK based on the Decision of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority Number: KEP-224/NB.1/2015 concerning the Determination of Fit and Proper Test for the Sharia Supervisory Board of PT Asuransi Jiwa Sinarmas MSIG on behalf of Endy M. Astiwara dated February 10, 2015.

Currently, he works as a Lecturer, Head of Business and Tourism of the National Sharia Council - Indonesian Ulema Council, and member of the expert team on a number of sharia bond (Sukuk) issuances, as well as management and sharia finance consultant in a number of financial consulting institutions.
