Janal Urich

Janal Urich has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Janal currently serves as the Vice President of Global Portfolio and Program Management at Atara Biotherapeutics since October 2021. Prior to this, they were a Global Program Team Leader, Senior Director of Global Program Management, and Director of Clinical PM at the same company.

Before joining Atara Biotherapeutics, Janal worked as the Director of Clinical Development at Organovo Holdings, Inc. from November 2018 to August 2019. Janal also worked as an Independent Biotechnology Consultant at Cell Therapy & Precision Medicine from March 2018 to November 2018.

Janal'searlier experience includes roles at ViaCyte, where they worked as a Clinical Development professional from October 2012 to March 2018. Janal also worked as a Clinical and Translational Science Consultant at the University of Southern California from November 2011 to October 2012.

Janal's career started as a Biology Instructor at UC Santa Barbara from January 2005 to June 2008. Janal then worked at Amgen as the Chief of Staff and Head of Medical Affairs Strategy & Operations from June 1995 to January 2005.

Prior to that, they worked as a Research Associate at Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard Medical School from August 1993 to May 1995, and at the Department of Molecular Cellular and Developmental Biology, UC Santa Barbara as a Research Associate in the Neuroscience Research Institute from January 1990 to June 1993.

Janal Urich attended Harvard University, where they studied Molecular Physiology but did not obtain a degree. They then enrolled in the MD Program at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. In addition to that, they also pursued an MPH Program at the same institution, specializing in Biostatistics and Epidemiology. Prior to these programs, Janal Urich earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology & Neurobiology from UC Santa Barbara.
