Philippe Foubert

Senior Director, Preclinical & Translational Sciences at Atara Biotherapeutics

Philippe Foubert has a diverse work experience in the field of translational sciences and preclinical development. Philippe started their career at Université Denis Diderot (Paris VII), where they completed their PhD in Biology and Pharmacology with a focus on vascular biology. Philippe then worked as a Postdoctoral Scholar at Moores UCSD Cancer Center and later at the Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Regenerative Medicine.

In 2013, Foubert joined Cytori Therapeutics Inc as a Scientist and subsequently became a Manager in Preclinical and Analytical Biology. After leaving Cytori, they joined Atara Biotherapeutics in 2018, starting as a Sr. Manager in Preclinical and Translational Science. Philippe later became an Associate Director and was responsible for preclinical and translational science activities related to T-cell therapies for Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and oncology, as well as biomarker development for MS programs.

In 2020, Foubert joined Bristol Myers Squibb as the Director of Tumor Microenvironment Translational Biomarkers, a role they held until 2022. Currently, they are the Senior Director of Translational Sciences at Atara Biotherapeutics.

Philippe Foubert completed a DEA in Vascular Biology at the Université Paris Cité in 2003. Philippe then pursued a PhD in Vascular Biology at the same institution from 2003 to 2007.
