Plinio Furtado

Plinio Furtado is the current Chief Biotech Scientist at Atarraya. Plinio has nearly a decade of experience in the aquaculture industry, including supervising shrimp and tilapia production with biofloc technology and intensively farming marine shrimp with biofloc technology. Plinio also has experience working in academia, having obtained their master's, doctorate, and post-doctorate in Aquaculture from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande - FURG.

The educational career for Plinio Furtado includes studying at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, where they majored in oceanology. Plinio later pursued a degree in environmental science at the Fundação Universidade Federal do Rio Grande. In addition, they have taken courses in ionic balance and marine ecology.
