Baptiste Verdin

R&D Project Manager at Atawey Hydrogen

Baptiste Verdin has a diverse work experience in the field of R&D and engineering. Baptiste started their career as a Qualification Technician at Hager Group, where they conducted functional and environmental qualification of radio alarm products. After that, they worked at the Paul Scherrer Institut as an R&D Engineer, where they developed a new recirculation system for non-used gases in a PEMFC for automotive applications.

Next, they joined Miljøbil Grenland AS as an R&D Electrochemist Engineer, where they conducted a comparison and test campaign on Li-ion cells for automotive purposes, including testing for electrical, mechanical, thermal properties and performance. Baptiste also modeled the performance and aging of the cells.

Baptiste then worked at Hutchinson Research Center as an R&D Electrochemist Engineer, specializing in developing new supercapacitive systems based on novel electrolytes. Baptiste was responsible for the design, adaptation, choice of materials, and parts for the systems.

Baptiste further pursued a PhD at CEA - Commissariat à l'énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives, where they focused on hydrogen production from PEM Water Electrolysis. Their research involved studying membrane-electrode assembly (MEA) heterogeneities, current density distribution, causes and consequences on durability at nano to macro scales.

Their most recent position was at ATAWEY, where they worked as an R&D Project Manager.

Baptiste Verdin started their education journey in 2007 at Lycée Carnot in Dijon, France, pursuing a Classe Préparatoire degree. During this period, they focused on studying Physics and industrial science. Baptiste completed this program in 2009.

Afterwards, Baptiste attended Grenoble-INP Phelma from 2009 to 2012, where they studied Electrochemistry and Processes for Energy and Environment. However, no specific field of study is provided for this degree.
