Dinesh Ramakrishnan has a diverse work experience in the field of biomedical engineering and bioinformatics. Dinesh is currently working as a PhD researcher and bioinformatics scientist at the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy. Prior to this, they completed their MSc in Bioinformatics and Computational Genomics at Queen's University Belfast in 2022. Dinesh also worked as a laboratory analyst at Randox for a few months in 2021.

Before their academic pursuits, Dinesh gained extensive experience as a biomedical engineer. From 2015 to 2021, they worked at Pure Health, where they were responsible for installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and upgrading laboratory equipment for various healthcare projects. Dinesh also managed project design and set up of general and molecular laboratories, as well as provided training to end users.

Prior to Pure Health, Dinesh worked at AVMLabs (formerly Thyrocare Gulf Laboratories) from 2017 to 2018, managing technical and commercial aspects of projects related to automated sample processing robotic systems. Dinesh contributed to the development of commercial infrastructure and processes to improve customer support.

Dinesh started their career at Thyrocare Technologies Ltd. in 2015, where they worked as a biomedical engineer. Dinesh gained experience in various aspects of the role, including installation, maintenance, purchase planning, and cost determination of reagent and consumable materials.

Dinesh Ramakrishnan completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College between 2011 and 2015. Following that, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Bioinformatics and Computational Genomics from Queen's University Belfast, which they completed between 2021 and 2022.

In addition to their formal education, Dinesh has obtained several certifications related to their field. These include certifications in Build Machine Learning Pipeline using Dataiku from Dataiku, Create a Jira SCRUM project from Atlassian, and Microsoft Azure SQL from Microsoft, all obtained in November 2022. Prior to this, they completed certifications in Drug Discovery from UC San Diego, Python for Genomic Data Science from The Johns Hopkins University, Biology meets programming: Bioinformatics from the University of California, San Diego - Rady School of Management, Experimental Methods in Systems Biology from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Genomic Technologies from The Johns Hopkins University, Whole Genome Sequencing of Bacterial Genomes - Tools and Applications from DTU - Technical University of Denmark, and Service Training on Merck Millipore AFS 16D Water System from Gulf Scientific Corporation, all obtained between 2019 and 2020.
