Xiao-Jian Zhou

Zhou has more than 25 years of experience in preclinical and clinical drug development in both academia and industry. Zhou has expertise and extensive experience in efficiently integrating clinical pharmacology in drug development, selecting clinical candidates, strategically planning, designing and conducting early stage clinical trials including first in human and proof of concept studies, preparing clinical pharmacology sections of IND, NDAs/sNDAs and interacting with FDA and other regulatory agencies.

Prior to joining Atea, Zhou served most recently as Executive Director, Clinical Pharmacology and Early Medical Development at Idenix Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

Prior to joining industry, Zhou served as Research Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Zhou holds a BS in Pharmaceutical Science from Nanjing College of Pharmacy, China and a MS and PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Marseilles, France.
