Kongbin Kang

Director, AIX Research at ATEC Spine

Kongbin Kang has an extensive work experience in the field of computer vision and medical image processing. Kongbin worked as the Director of AIX Research at Alphatec Spine starting from February 2023. Prior to that, they provided consulting services in computer vision and medical image processing at Computer Vision Consulting Service in 2022. In the same year, they also served as the Senior Director of Computer Vision at HiberCell from January to July. Kongbin held the position of Senior Director of Computer Vision at Genuity Science from September to December 2021. Kongbin spent a significant portion of their career at Bio-Tree Systems, Inc. as the Director of Image Research and Advanced Development from July 2007 to July 2021. Before that, they worked as a Senior Research Associate at Brown University from May 2005 to June 2007.

Kongbin Kang began their education in 1990 at Peking University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Physics. From 1995 to 1998, they continued their studies at Peking University and obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc) degree in Space Physics.

In 1998, Kongbin Kang enrolled at Brown University and pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc) degree in Computer Science, specializing in Applied Mathematics (Pattern Recognition). Kongbin completed this degree in 2003, after five years of study.

During the same period, from 1998 to 2003, Kongbin Kang was also studying at Brown University and obtained another Master of Science (M.Sc) degree, this time in Engineering with a focus on Computer Vision.

Additionally, Kongbin Kang pursued a Ph.D. degree in Engineering (Computer Vision) at Brown University, which they completed in 2004.
