Mike Arun, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience in the field of biomechanics and research engineering.
From 2014 to 2019, they worked as a Researcher at the Medical College of Wisconsin. In this role, they focused on the development of cervical and lumbar spine finite element models for surgical planning. These models were utilized to assess post-surgical stress and strain states in specific anatomical regions, as well as to simulate fusion and motion-preserving surgical techniques and implants.
Next, they joined Talas Engineering, Inc. in 2019 as a Biomechanics Research Engineer. During their time there, they contributed to various projects until June 2022.
Currently, Mike holds the position of Senior Research Engineer at Alphatec Spine starting from June 2022. In this role, they are responsible for the development of a novel morphable whole spine finite element model. This model allows for rapid morphing to represent a patient-specific spine on a global scale.
Mike Arun, Ph.D. pursued their education at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi from 2008 to 2014. During this time, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Computational and Experimental Biomechanics.
