Xinjie Ouyang

Design Engineer - Advanced Tech at ATEC Spine

Xinjie Ouyang has a diverse work experience in the field of biomedical engineering. In 2019, they worked as a Biomedical Product Designer at NewGait. From 2018 to 2020, they were a Project Designer and Leader at UC San Diego, where they designed a minimally invasive implant for treating nasal valve collapse and developed a surgical robotic arm for CT-guided percutaneous needle biopsy. In 2019, they also worked as a Biomedical Engineering Intern at LIDE Biotech Co., LTD. At Duke University, Xinjie served as a Medical Device Project R&D Leader from 2021 to 2022, where they designed a compression belt for people with orthostatic hypotension and presented their work at Duke's BME Design Symposium. From 2022 to 2022, Xinjie worked as a Medical Device Development Engineer Intern at Duke FastTrack, where they shadowed neurosurgeons, designed a curved needle device using Solidworks and 3D printers, and improved quality control and reduced costs through technical resolution. Currently, Xinjie is a Design Engineer - Advanced Tech at Alphatec Spine.

Xinjie Ouyang completed their Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering at UC San Diego. They then pursued a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering with a specialization in Medical Device Design at Duke University from 2020 to 2022. Additionally, Xinjie acquired several certifications, including "Biomedical Research with GCP - Basic/Refresher" from CITI Program in September 2022, "C++ Basic Structures: Vectors, Pointers, Strings, and Files" from Coursera in August 2022, "C++ Basics: Selection and Iteration" from Coursera in July 2022, "Foundations of Healthcare Systems Engineering by JHU" from Coursera in May 2022, and "Introduction to Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing" from LinkedIn in May 2022.
