Emilie Hagen is the Director of Atelier Ten's San Francisco office, having joined the firm in October 2005 and previously served as Associate Director, where leadership responsibilities included guiding the West Coast office alongside Claire Maxfield. With a strong background in sustainable design, Emilie has contributed to over 50 LEED certified and targeted projects during eight years at Atelier Ten in New York and holds a LEED AP BD+C accreditation. Emilie's academic contributions include serving as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Architecture at Columbia University from January 2010 to June 2013, where sustainable design consulting was provided to the C-BIP Integrated Design Studio, as well as co-teaching the Environmental Technology class for graduate architecture students at The New School from 2008 to January 2012. Emilie's professional journey began as an Intern Architect in the Elements Division at BNIM Architects from 2004 to 2005. Emilie Hagen earned a Bachelor of Architecture from The University of Kansas and pursued further studies at the University of Stuttgart.
