Scott Thompson is a Senior Production Engineer at Athabasca Oil Corporation, with experience in the energy sector spanning over two decades. Previously, Scott held key positions at Statoil, including Principal Production Engineer and Senior Completions Engineer, focusing on subsurface technologies for extra heavy oil assets, with emphasis on well design and flow control. Prior to Statoil, Scott worked as a Senior Project Engineer at Noetic Engineering, specializing in wellbore hydraulics and failure investigations for SAGD and heavy oil operators. Scott began the career as a Research Engineer at FuelCell Energy, where contributions included the commercialization of Solid Oxide Fuel Cell technology. Scott holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary.
